History Of Headphones.

Headphones have a history of about 80 years. They were first used for communication and music production.

1880

In 1880, the world’s first headphones were invented for telephone operators, using only one ear. It is said that the headphone weighed about 10 pounds. Later, in 1890, headphones were invented on the side of a stethoscope, which were used by the rich to listen to opera music.

1910

In 1910, Nathaniel Baldwin invented the first successful headphones in Ontario, Canada. That’s for World War II communication. But it has made a croaking noise. He sold the equipment to the U.S. military for military purposes. However, wearing it was not an easy task.

1968

It was so popular that at the time of writing this article, the world’s best professional headphone maker by 2020 was the Sennheiser Company, making a whopping $ 55,000.

1976

Headphone prices plummeted in the early 70s. Samsung’s Harman AKG and Pioneer Sound have joined Numark as competitors in headphone production.

With the introduction of the Sony Walkman headphones in the 1980s, the use of headphones changed dramatically.

2002
